Architeuthis
Birthed during the COVID pandemic, Architeuthis represents a filthy concoction of 90s crust punk and the pounding sludgy beatdowns of 90s metallic hardcore. Based in Minnesota, this many-tentacled beast takes influence from bands like Ringworm, Breach, and Converge. Check out their demo “Ignorance” now available on cassette and to stream.

Branogenos
Descending from the dense mist of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Branogenos is a fiercely uncompromising slab of raw atmospheric black metal. Blending the ferocity of the Finnish with the eclecticism of the French, Branogenos offer up acerbic tremolos and relentless blast beats while retaining a profound meditative and spiritual undertone. Liminal Dread Productions is proud to be reissuing their debut EP "The Crow's Abysmal Gaze" on cassette available now!

Crotaline
Forged in the fiery depths of Oxford, OH, Crotaline dispenses old school black metal of the highest caliber. Committed to the celebration of our master below, Crotaline’s two pronged fervor comes from the collective efforts of Astharoth and Cerastes. Striking with the poise of a serpent, Crotaline takes influence from Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer, Midnight, and Darkthrone. Expect a sinister EP on the horizon!

Dawn Treader
The honor of the first international LDP member goes to the incredibly talented Dawn Treader from the UK. As inhabitants of such a gloomy isle, you might expect their music to reflect this somberness and, while sometimes true, it also crackles with a frenetic and infectious energy. Blending the fury of black metal with the lilting ethereal qualities of post-rock lends their sound a perfectly balanced kineticism and with a strong adherence to the tenets of anti-facism, Dawn Treader make powerful music with a powerful message. This is truly blackgaze for a new era and we at LDP bring you both their classic EP Burial of the Dead and their full length coming later this year all on glorious analog goodness

Dragged Out to Sea
To describe Dragged Out to Sea is somewhat like attempting to count to infinity. Both are an exercise in futility. The eclectic millieu of influences that define their sound ranges from the noiserock leanings of the The Turin Horse to the harsh metallic hardcore of Converge. The atmospheric turns occasionally call to mind the post-metal leanings of The Ocean Collective while the diverse vocal attack instead emulates the mighty Neurosis. Seasoned veterans of the northern midwestern scene, this trio joins LDP in congress with their debut album “With Only Skeletons Left” available now.
-
HHP
Many strange and discomforting things lurk in the backwoods of Ohio, but few command the same rapt attention as the Human Hot Pocket. HHP dispenses experimental noise that offers a brusque aural scouring. A solo project hailing from Mason, HHP may appear at first glance to be monolithically unapproachable, but brief moments of beautiful clarity punctuate the inky black, pulling the listener back again and again.
-
Hypnopompia
Representing the musical byproducts rendered from the fevered dreams of the Incubus, Hypnopompia is an unnerving blend of 1st wave black metal and dream-haunting doom. Expressing themes of sleep paralysis and the demons that accompany it, Hypnopompia takes cues from Samael, Root, Mystifier, and Mercyful Fate as it sequesters itself in the shadows of your bedroom. Check out their split with Weep on our bandcamp!
-
Kalliste
Lurking in the shadows of Kingsport, TN, Kalliste is a one man DSBM project which channels all the sorrow of None, Totalselfhatred, Happy Days, and Annorkoth into a strikingly potent concoction of gloom. Pensive and somber, you can purchase their new split with Weep on Bandcamp digitally or via cassette.
-
Manawydan
Nestled in the dreary wooded valleys around Columbus is a strange and alluring project unlike any other. An idiosyncratic blend of trip-hop and atmospheric black metal that bludgeons as often as it befuddles. That project is the mighty Manawydan, and they are guaranteed to enrapture even the most recalcitrant metalhead. With a focus on indigenous struggles and the overlooked history of the Ohio valley, their music is finely tuned and deeply impactful. Check out their newest EP “Wabash” for sale on our Bandcamp and keep those eyes peeled for a full-length materializing later this year.
-
Mycorrhizal
Cultivated in frigid northwoods of Wisconsin, Mycorrhizal is a one-woman black metal project unlike any other. Drawing heavily on electronic and industrial soundscapes from the 90s, Mycorrhizal weaves unsettling textural landscapes pockmarked with jagged wounds of aggression. Cold distant synths pair with guttural rasps and indistinct melodies forming a monument to mother nature. Eco-anarchist and anti-fascist, Mycorrhizal is deeply committed to the celebration and care of the natural world, and the condemnation of industrial aggression against it.
-
Ossification
Hailing from the industrial wasteland of Cincinatti, Ossification is a fossilized slab of black metal committed to drowning the whole world in tar. Featuring members of death-doom powerhouse Bog, this ripping black metal foray into the prehistoric ages features all the reverb laden tremolos one could desire. It’s like Inquisition but for people who hate Nazis. Check out their debut LP “Gathered in the Ancient Woodlands” out October 13th.

Soy.
Born in the polluted filth of the Ohio River Valley, the noise rock collective known as Soy. wants to show up to your shitty hometown in our gay little outfits to play the most earsplitting 45 minute set ever heard, drop some pamphlets on anti-capitalism and autonomy, and disappear into the night. Silly but not cynical. Queer as in fuck you. You are already a member of our band.
-
Stygian
Hailing from the frigid north of Canada, Stygian is a fearsome bend of savage black metal and pummeling sludge. With a focus on DIY recording and real sounds in real rooms Stygian are filthy, hefty, and louder than a howler monkey. Their debut EP of doomgazey goodness comes fall 2024.

Vanessa Funke
Hailing from Gevelsberg, Germany, Vanessa is without a doubt one of LDP’s most exciting musical talents. A multi-instrumentalist with the voice of both an angel and a demon at her disposal, Vanessa crafts expansive and melancholic melodic death metal of supreme quality. Like every LDP artist she’s a difficult one to pin down. While the occasional blackened flair rears its ugly head there’s also never a proggy twist too far around the corner. The gentler moments of introspection are expertly balanced with the energetic explosions of aggression, and this fluidity is what makes her such a compelling artst. Grab the reissue of her debut LP “Solitude” on our bandcamp today!

Weep
A side project of Cerastes from Crotaline, Weep represents concentrated anguish filtered through the sounds of DSBM, Post-Hardcore, and Blackgaze. Strained melodies burst through chaotic tremolos and frantic d-beats taking cues from bands like Cara Neir, Katatonia, Dark Tranquillity, and Ulver. Check out their new EP “Life in Shades of Grey” on CD or digitally today!
